OBTAINING AN ACH

X - - - - - - - X

All naturally based horses are allowed to be registered with ACHA, as long as they fit all ACH Breed standards.

BUILT FOR HARD WORK

The American Cattle Horse originates from a small ranch in the Western U.S., back when the land was still young, before everyone "rushed" in.  Most of the Horses across the U.S. were enlisted in the wars, taking the "best" of the breeds already here, thus leaving behind the smaller, lighter horses.

Ranchers in the area started to hide their prime horses in well secluded places. These horses, being left on their own, started mingling with Mustangs and other Spanish stock left over from the legendary explorer Cortes.

This caught the attention of one particular rancher, who could see the foundation being built on its own. After years of selecting specific horses and adding in Draft, Thoroughbred, and more Spanish blood, The American Cattle Horse was founded.
