BREED BASE COATS

These are specific coats that the American Cattle Horse is known for.
These can only be obtained through breeding or rank awards.

Wild Bay - A+ a

Black color fades at its back & legs, red shows through, so it becomes two toned. The Black is focused more on the rump and hocks as well as the chest, shoulders, head, and down towards the cannon bones. Black is less commonly shown on pasterns but never touches the coronet bands. Red is concentrated to barrel, back and hoof to fetlock regions.

Normal Expression | Dappling may occur on some coats, and the Red expression will follow the normal shades of bay.

These are specific dillutions that the American Cattle Horse is known for.
These can only be obtained through breeding or rank awards.

Albinism* - E+

EXAMPLES:

Albinism - E+

---- All show Red/Pink eyes.

---- Changes base coat to a white/cream base

---- Changes all dark marks/patches into a dull red/rust color 

---- Some white markings are visible near the soft points where the pink skins show through.

---- Overtime, as the horse ages - the coat will start to desaturate to full white. Like greying out.

Blue Dilute - BB/nB

-- nB horses show a slight blue dilution, while BB horses are heavily diluted.

-- Red alle becomes desaturated, more muted.

-- Eye color will vary upon expression but they stay in the Amber/Hazel family

PEARL EXPRESSION ON BLUE

No Difference between nB & BB expressions

Very Very Light Amber or Hazel eye color, Coat will have a bright sheen, Points have a red(ish) hue

Pearl needs to have a Cr gene or be PrlPrl to show.  Double Cream w/ Pearl will result in an almost white variation.
